Thetford Forest, on the Suffolk/Norfolk border has the best mountain biking that the local region can offer, miles of singletrack and red and black routes make this a trail centre junkies delight.

Thetford High Lodge Forest Park also has a great cafe for lunch, toilets as well as other facilities such as Go-Ape and loads of swings/slides for all ages.

London 2 hrs
Peterborough 1 hrs
Cambridge 1hr
Norwich 1hr

From the West approach on the A14 (leave at J38) then take the A47 to Thetford, follow the A1106 to Brandon and then follow the local signs to High Lodge Forest Park.

From London, follow the M11/A11 towards Thetford. Continue straight over the Elveden crossroads, up to the second roundabout. Turn left on to the B1107, signposted Brandon. After approx. 2 miles turn left (signposted High Lodge Forest Centre) and follow the Forest Drive for 1 mile. then follow the directions above.

Train Directions

Thetford Station is approximately 4.5 miles from High Lodge Forest Park. The Norwich to Cambridge service calls at Thetford station and welcomes bicycles. For most of each day trains leave hourly for Cambridge and Peterborough and approximately two an hour depart for Norwich.
