MIAS Mountain Bike Instruction Qualification
Get Mountain Biking are pleased to offer the Level 1 and level 2 MIAS Mountain Biking training course. This qualification qualifies you to instruct groups of mountain bikers off road.
The mountain bike leader / instructor qualifications were first introduced into the education sector and are now widely used and recognised by independent mountain bike guides, mountain bike holiday companies, military personnel, police service, youth leaders, scout leaders etc. It is the only mountain biking award to have benefited from a nationally recognised mountain biking qualification from an awarding body, the Awarding Body Consortium (A.B.C.). MIAS Level 1 mountain bike leader/instructor qualification
is aimed at those who wish to lead groups of beginners in non-technical terrain (forest tracks, canal towpaths etc) at below 600m sea level. Candidates must have a 16hr First Aid Certificate or be working towards one.
MIAS Level 2 mountain bike leader/instructor qualification
is aimed at those who wish to lead groups of beginners in non technical terrain and intermediate riders in technical (rocky/demanding terrain) at below 600m. Candidates must be in possession of a BELA Award, WGL or equivalent or accredited APL. A 16hr First Aid Certificate is required along with good map reading skills.

Assessment is by constant assessment of your skills over the 2 days course. The Assessor with the candidate will decide after the initial assessment period which level they wish to be assessed to.
Cost for the mountain bike instructor course is £180 (course cost includes registration, logbook assessment and certificate).
