Guided Mountain Bike Rides
With years of riding the local mountain bike trails we have chosen some of the best parts of the area to ride.
All rides run to the pace of the slowest rider, however to maximise your enjoyment for the ride we would suggest that you ensure you have a sufficient fitness level to cycle for the length of the ride and sufficient skills to cycle the route.
All rides are limited to a maximum of 10 riders per guide. Day rides cost £20.
Harlestone
A great half day to try out mountain biking to see if its for you. A much easier route than Woburn but with some great swoopy singletrack and not many hills - all at the pace of the slowest rider. With a max of 3 hours riding time (note - thats not 3 hours of riding!) it gives us plenty of time to chat, gives some basic instruction and also try out some new moves to get you riding so you are placed to see if you think the Introductory Course is your next step.
Bike hire is available (£25 per bike).
With the cafe in the garden centre across the road for coffee or lunch afterwards this is a little favourite of ours. The ride runs 10am till approx 1pm (weather/fitness dependant).
Herts Hills
Come and see the best of Hertfordshires mountain biking countryside on a 25 mile route to stretch your legs on, starting from Hitchin Train Station this ride is great for those in the city. The ride takes in plenty of bridleways, adds in some hills to challenge even the fittest and some singletrack to enjoy, a great day out and a pub stop is included for lunch (lunch not provided) - what more could you ask for with great access by train from London? The ride is suitable for anyone with good fitness but with no huge techncial sections road riders, triathletes and gym animals are welcome.
The ride runs 10am till approx 4pm.
Woburn
A great mornings mountain biking of approx 12 miles of trails around Woburn Trails, this ride includes lots of technical terrain including some great descents and singletrack (the infamous Three Sisters and the Rollercoaster are included!).It also offers an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the routes around Woburn as well as gain experience of riding technical obstacles.
You will need mountain biking experience to attend this ride, such as having attended an introductory level mountain biking course or ride regularly off road to be able to enjoy this ride - not for a novice!.
The ride runs 10am till 1pm.
