Core Mountain Bike Skills Courses
Our Core mountain biking courses are aimed at those new to mountain biking who have the fitness and confidence to ride but lack some of the skills or knowledge required to get over obstacles.
The course is aimed at keeping you on your bike rather than having to walk across obstacles, giving you the confidence and understanding of how to attack obstacles.
The day is also a suitable level for road riders or triathletes wanting to learn the techniques involved in mountain biking.
What you will learn
The following modules are covered during the course:
- Bike set up for mountain biking
- Rider positioning on the bike
- Hill techniques downhill
- Hill techniques uphill
- Drops offs
- Line choices
- Powered Front Wheel Lifts
- Unpowered Front Wheel Lifts
- Cornering techniques
- Balance techniques to improve your riding
Courses run at the following locations: Courses run at the following locations Harlestone Firs, Northamptonshire
and Rushmere Park (Woburn)
Time: All courses run 10am till approx 4pm
Cost: Ј70 per person (includes all instruction and Permit to Ride)
You should have the fitness to ride the course of approximately 10 miles and some experience of off road biking. We are happy to take people who are confident but have no off road riding experience but if you think you may struggle on this course please consider our Fundamentals Skills Course
You will need need a mountain bike to get the most out of this course. If you don't have your own mountain bike please hire a bike form us at the time of making your booking (Ј30 per day - includes helmet if required)

Women Only Mountain Bike Courses
Women's Specific Skills Courses are available for ladies that want to have the Course Instruction but without the guys around (think about it as more of a Girls Day Out on bikes!). These usually run each month or so according to demand and are delivered by Helen
